Finance Department Overview
The Finance Department, under the direction of the Finance Director is responsible for the audit and maintenance of all City financial records and accounts including all assets and liabilities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Director is responsible for the custody, investment, and disbursement o all City funds and follows the investment policy as established by Council. The Department also maintains effective and efficient procurement procedures; provides accurate and efficient payroll services; ensures enforcement of the income tax ordinance; and provides accurate centralized billing services for the stormwater utility fees, solid waste service fees, miscellaneous fees, and user charges.
The City of Upper Arlington received a AAA bond rating status from both Moody's and Standard & Poor's. The AAA rating designation has only been achieved by four municipalities within Ohio.
